The Slow Readers Club have shared stunning new statement single ‘Boy So Blue’.

The track is the latest to be lifted from the four-piece’s seventh studio album, ‘Out Of A Dream’, due out for release on 14 March 2025.

‘Boy So Blue’ follows previous singles ‘Technofear’ and ‘Animals’.

Singer and lyricist, Aaron Starkie, commented, “The electronic element of our sound evolves from song to song and album to album. As we’ve always been drawn to the sounds of early Depeche Mode, Erasure, New Order and LCD Soundsystem, we decided to put those influences front and centre.

“‘Although it’s a big, joyous dance track, it’s about hiding deep emotional pain and trauma and how hedonistic coping mechanisms, like drugs, alcohol, and womanizing, are just temporary distractions. They ultimately fuel a self-destructive cycle. There’s a deliberate contrast between the euphoria of the music and the melancholy of the lyrics, capturing the subject’s duality of light and darkness.”
