In 2017, the indie rockers said an emotional, euphoric goodbye with three sold-out nights at London’s Alexandra Palace.
In fact, the farewell was so definite, that each member immersed themselves into a myriad of new pursuits, from music, art, literature, film scores, production, broadcasting, and more. Despite the repeated questions in the years that followed, each member shared the same sentiment—it truly felt like the end. However – and fortunately for fans – not all goodbyes are meant to last forever.
The Maccabees – lead singer Orlando Weeks, guitarists (& brothers) Felix & Hugo White, bassist Rupert Jarvis & drummer Sam Doyle – debuted in 2005 and constantly evolved over the course of four studio albums, spanning from their fan-favourite debut ‘Colour It In’ to their most acclaimed work and first No.1 record, ‘Marks To Prove It’.
Additionally, they received a Mercury Prize nomination for their third album, ‘Given To The Wild’, and the prestigious Ivor Novello for Best Contemporary Song for ‘Pelican’.
