The run of live dates will see the British indie icons play a special homecoming show at the Brighton. The band last played the venue back in 2022 in celebration of the 15th anniversary of their landmark debut album.

The Kooks’ seventh studio album, ‘Never/Know’, is due out on 09 May 2025, and will feature their recently released feel-good, springtime anthem, ‘Sunny Baby’.

Discussing the single, frontman Luke Pritchard commented, “We’re told how bad everything is at the moment; everything’s sh*t; the world’s sh*t. And I was like, I’m just going to refuse to not let these be the best years of life, because I’ve got a young family. It’s about me getting to a balanced life; having a family. It’s a love song about someone making me fall back in love with myself.”

The Kooks’ 2006 debut album sold over two million copies, and they’ve since found themselves unexpectedly embraced by a whole new generation. Thanks to the viral power of social media, their unmistakable Britpop energy has been rediscovered – making them a renewed favourite for longtime fans as well as introducing them to a passionate Gen Z following.

Their debut full-length was a defining moment in 2000s indie music, with early releases, like hit single ‘Naïve’. capturing the spirit of the era. But The Kooks were far from a one-hit wonder. ‘Konk’, their follow-up, hit No.1 and marked one of four Top 10 albums.

Rather than standing still, The Kooks have continued to evolve, shifting from their indie rock roots into synthpop and krautrock textures. Along the way, they’ve drawn from a wide range of influences and remain as relevant today as they were at the start.
