The boys are back in town! The Blackout have made a comeback from a nine-year break, it’s great to have them back. I feel like I’ve blinked, and gone back to my childhood.
They had support from De’Lour and Dead Pony, they both smashed their sets and I have already added them to my Spotify playlist. I hope to catch them when they come to Cardiff next, they’re going to be huge.
The Blackout came out and completely shook the Great Hall to the ground. It genuinely felt like I stepped back to 2015 when I was at their goodbye tour, nothing had changed, and I LOVED it. The crowd was rowdy as ever and screaming “We Are The Dynamite”. Sean Smith crowd surfed whilst Gavin Butler soldiered on as he had a medical boot on due to an injury on the tour, but he was determined to give it his all, especially at their hometown show.
This band has a special place in my heart as they’re from my local town (Merthyr Tydfil), so it felt good for them to be back, in fact, The Best In Town to be exact. They played all their hits and it was the most nostalgic evening. Even to see all the local gig goers all in one place, where most of us met, was very special. Croseo nol, The Blackout.
