Arriving late due to work commitments, distance and traffic, we missed most of support bands The Zac Schulze Gang’s set, but what we saw impressed plenty of attitude and energy, so we will look forward to catching them at a later date. Now Samantha Fish, this is about our third time of witnessing Ms Fish, and to be honest she seems to be getting better and better. The guitar is as always exceptional, and she seems to be growing in confidence or maturity – not really sure how to put it in words – but tonight she mesmerised the very big crowd in the Rock City, with a supreme display blending traditional blues and rock. Kicking off with MC5’s ‘Kick Out The Jams’, it was again obvious we were in for a treat tonight. Nothing new there then, her guitar work is something else, and it seems her vocals are getting stronger and stronger.

There were a few newer numbers on display tonight, which hints at what to expect when a new album surfaces, soon we hope. Yes, some old favourites were played, the brilliant ‘Bulletproof’ being one, she has to play that! We think there would be a riot if not. If there was any justice she would be playing arenas, she is that good. She didn’t just rock the Rock City tonight; she tore it apart. This was epic.
