Don’t shoot us, please, as we are late to the Noah Kahan. Well, there’s only so much time to absorb music. Anyway, my daughter informed me that she had tried for a ticket in London with zero chance as they sold out fast. When I looked at the size of the venues – arenas – I thought WOW. So, we thought better check this out and going into the Utilita tonight, straight away you could feel the buzz in the air, and as Noah took to the stage the roar was intense. It was obvious from the start that most of the crowd already knew all his songs, unlike us. Of course, we all have heard ‘Stick Season’, who hasn’t? The biggest hit of the year. And with only a couple of quick looks on YouTube, we came across some quite slow numbers, which turned out to be not entirely what Kahan is about. In fact, he has quite a few quick and lively tracks, especially a little heavier numbers, which came as a nice surprise.

He is a really excellent and energetic live performer, and quite funny, with a very expressive face and obviously connects with his audience. It was great to see that the audience is made up of a big chunk that was on the younger side, they get him, big time, and they sang all the way through the set, impressive. He may not trouble the charts as much as Taylor Swift, but that makes no difference when you can deliver quality tunes like he does. We may have been late to the party, but we are there now.
