Well, we don’t need any cajoling to make the trip to the legendary Hare & Hounds tonight as it is to see the fabulous Morganway, and we are always guaranteed to have a great night. This tour in support of their third and latest album, ‘Kill The Silence’, has been getting rave reviews from everyone, no surprise to us. In fact, it’s standard from Morganway, and they are now building up quite a catalogue of great tunes, but as you will hear on ‘Kill The Silence’, there is some slight changes in direction, but always keeping the quality up, which is what you want from a band. And when they deliver them live, you get swept along, whether you are up on the new tunes or not, which is what Morganway do. They are a force to be reckoned with, there is so much talent in this band it’s mad, and I have said many times how great a singer SJ is, but just a word on how Nicole Terry plays fiddle. She is brilliant, from the very gentle fill-ins to bowing the crap out of her instrument – impressive.
With Morganway, you can rest assured you will get a surprise. Like tonight, the entire band coming into the crowded room and playing acoustic around a light looking like a campfire, visually captivating. And I can bet with certainty that no one wanted the end to come. Along with the fantastic singer-songwriter, Kezia Gill, who I spotted in the crowd, and is a big fan of this cracking band. So do yourself a favour, catch them at a festival this summer, you won’t regret it.
