James Black has released the debut single from his forthcoming sixth studio album ‘Playing Robots Into Heaven’.

The track entitled ‘Big Hammer’ is accompanied by an official music video, directed by Oscar Hudson (Radiohead, Bonobo).

‘Playing Robots Into Heaven’ is due out for release on 08 September 2023 via Polydor/ Republic records.

The new full-length marks the start of another pivotal creative chapter for the Mercury Music Prize and GRAMMY® Award-winning UK singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer.

The album will be the follow-up to the critically acclaimed ‘Friends That Break Your Heart’ – his highest charting album in the UK to date – and will see him return to the electronic roots of his Hessle, Hemlock and R&S records days.

James Blake has also announced that he will be embarking on a headline international tour next year. The run of shows will include dates in Europe and North America as well as a hometown gig at Alexandra Palace, London on 28 September 2023.
