Roundhouse holds 2,000 and The O2 holds 21,000.
I think someone has made a slight miscalculation here.

A triumph of ego over sanity if ever there was one!
Posted on May 10th, 2010 at 09:52
there is no way they should be doing 1 date there, let alone 2. They aren’t the type of band that should be doing Arenas anyway.
Posted on May 10th, 2010 at 11:14
and just the £50 each too!

Blur didn’t even fill the MEN on their comeback tour and they had a lot of the upper tier at £25.
No way Gorillaz will, surely they would only work somewhere small due to the very nature of their shows? Bizarre, can imagine this would be really really boring if you weren’t near the front

I saw Gorillaz last month at Coachella and they closed the festival on the main stage. It wasn’t a perfect gig owing to some technical problems leading to Damien having a face like a slapped arse, but it was a big gig and it worked. I personally wouldn’t go see at the O2 but not because I can’t see it working for them.
Posted on May 10th, 2010 at 19:26
Yes but surely they’ll block off the upper levels. You guys do make me chuckle mind.
It’ll be a very eerie empty arena on those days.

What’s the quietest anyone has seen the O2…for a full arena format and a music gig?
I went to Basement Jaxx before xmas and you could do cart-wheels a few metres from the stage (in fact, that might have been the reason I got chucked out…these slow gigs, always a tendency to over do it when it’s so easy to get to the bar).
Posted on May 11th, 2010 at 14:08
Rockwell.
It was so quiet that I had a row to myself and felt like I had Lepracy.
Posted on May 11th, 2010 at 14:10
Worst I’ve ever seen a gig was Smashing Pumpkins at the MEN. All the upper tier taped off, half the lower tier taped off and then massive gaps in the few blocks that were actually open. Standing was half empty too! Bet there were about 4k in there… shambolic really. Was absolutely freezing and everything echoed around, horrendous gig really.
The infamous Rockwell would surely be an o2 contender?
Posted on May 11th, 2010 at 14:43
I have a prediction, that i’ve just seen for what might be the quietest gig ever….A R Rahman (don’t ask me, I don’t have a clue) on July 24. This person has a show on the 25th (Sunday) at Wembley Arena, that has not sold out….and is putting tickets on sale for an O2 Arena show for the day before…..optimistic.
Posted on May 11th, 2010 at 17:01
A R Rahman has sold over 200million records
Posted on May 11th, 2010 at 17:35
I have a prediction, for the quitest gig ever…Whitney Houston on her next tour!!
They should use her for those F.R.A.N.K. adverts on TV.
No kids would ever touch drugs again.

Anonymous…see you there then

I was at the bassment jaxx too death_to_metal. Wow . That was quiet. Standing area was so patchy. It was like an evening at the local pub with people chatting.
On another note, has anyone noticed recently that these arena keep selling out of alcohol before the main act starts!?
I was at black eyed peas and they sold out of wine, decent beer and vodka even the black peas came on. Was at la roux and the same thing happenned before she was on last week.
Is it deliberate!? Getting annoying. I need my drinks!! lol
Posted on May 12th, 2010 at 09:32
Eddie Kadi would be my prediction for the quietest up coming gig.
Been on sale for 4 months and you can still buy Block 101 Row H. Surely it’ll get moved? Who on earth booked this!
Not suprising that so many of these contenders are on at the o2..
Posted on May 12th, 2010 at 11:55
Sean you obviously have no sense and understanding of Eddie Kadi and his gigs. Have you ever been to an Eddie Kadi show? Do you even know about his audience? SO shut up and keep you stupid opinions to yourself!!!! If the arena is not sold out on September 4th then OPEN your stupid mouth!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted on May 12th, 2010 at 20:30
agree with sean on the o2 front. eddie kadi has no chance. i have more chance in filling it out with my friends
Posted on May 12th, 2010 at 22:03
Tobi - Calm down Sean has a opinion
I have seen Eddie perform twice. He should have done a couple of nights in a smaller venue.
He is running before he can walk
Posted on May 12th, 2010 at 22:33
Sean..101? Why not take the opportunity, while it presents itself, of the £55 VIP Platinum tickets…A2 Row K…don’t get much better than that. Better be quick though, the words out amoungst the fans.
Kidding, of course. And please Tobi - why the anger? If you can great seats to see one of your favourite artists, then all the better.
Posted on May 12th, 2010 at 22:35
STOP PRESS:
You can pick up A2 block EK tickets on Seatwave for £10 each. Gttf - can you supply an affiliate link please so we can all go on the 4th and ‘open our stupid mouths’ again.
Posted on May 12th, 2010 at 22:38
Not going to get into a cyber war of words with you Toni, but I will happily bet my house that Eddie Kadi will not have sold out the o2 arena for his gig. Infact, you can have it all if he fills it! Also, not sure what you are trying to say about Eddie Kadi’s audiences or why they will defy all previous ticket sales patterns?
So yeah, anybody any better takers on a lower tickets sold to capacity ratio than Eddie Kadi?
This isn’t a dig at Eddie. the Promoters or the o2, just find it quite interesting sometimes hearing stories of these kind of hash ups and massive over bookings, and others clearly do too on during this quietest of months!

Enjoy the power and beauty of Eddie Kidd; oh nevermind; you will not
understand the power and beauty of eddie kidd until he has faded.
But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of eddie and
recall in a way you can’t grasp now how many block A2 tickets lay before
you and how fabulous Eddie really looked. Eddie is not as a fat as you
imagine.
Dont worry about Eddie selling out; or worry, but know that worrying is as
effective as trying to solve why chewing bubblegum in the o2 arena is better than staying at home. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that
never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 8pm
on some idle gig on september 4th.
Posted on May 13th, 2010 at 00:13
Eddie kidd is my name and I’ll be at Eddie Kadi on Sep 4th ironic that I have A2 seats also!
Posted on May 13th, 2010 at 00:18
On the tickets sold to capacity ratio, surely Anthea Turner would have to be a contender? She cancelled her tour a few weeks ago after selling just 2 tickets.
Posted on May 13th, 2010 at 08:16
DavetheRave - Anthea was making her mum and husband pay to go?
Posted on May 13th, 2010 at 09:22
really really Eddie Kidd -
Get a dictionary and look up the definition of irony, please.

The worst I’ve ever seen was Owl City at Glasgow Barrowlands last weekend - capacity 2,500. We turned up at 9pm, he was about to go on and we walked to the barrier. Four rows at the front and that was it. Maybe 800 there?
Another bad one was Coldplay & Jay-Z at Hampden Park last year. Standing only half-full, the entire back block of seats blocked off. And I have a feeling Paul McCartney at the same venue in June will be the same =/

V Festival 2007.
Went to see Ross Copperman in one of the tents at the same time Kasabian were on the main stage.
A total of 7 people (including me and the missus!).
I think there were more people on stage !
Still good though!!

New Glasgow date announced - 8th September - on sale Friday.

Funny someone should mention the A R Rahman shows …
I’m interested in this show and I’d sniffed the fact that the O2 tickets were selling like, er, whatever the opposite of hot cakes are!
The top seats are a whopping £110+ which I’m sure has something to do with it!!
Anyway, I’m in Brum so I thought I’d check out the pricing/availability for the Friday night show before the O2 on Saturday …
The Ticket Factory, somewhat bizarrely, are not selling them online, only over the phone(??!!) so I called them up and lo and behold, the prices are the same for Brum!! I asked the guy when they had gone on sale and he said the previous day and then he said I could have stageside, block 16 row B if I wanted!! Talk about bloody tumbleweeds, they’ll be lucky to shift 100 seats in Brum at those prices - what the hell do the promoters think is happening in Brum these days, we’re hit twice as hard by the recession as most other places!!
I asked about the front centre block B and he said they were only available from row Z backwards - I burst out laughing and suggested that per chance, those seats in front of row Z had never actually been on sale/sold and were “reserved” for corporate pimping etc and he ummd and arrd etc!! I note that it looks like block A2 never went on sale for the O2 gig nor block A3 for the Wembley gig either so same sh*t there too by the looks of it!
Anyway, I made him a 2-for-1 offer for the block 16 row B seats which he said he couldn’t do so I said I’d ring back in a month and offer him the same deal then!!
Tumbleweeds ahoy!!
Posted on May 17th, 2010 at 22:51
£255 for a VIP ticket - I will have 6 of those please!!!
Posted on May 18th, 2010 at 10:13
Bon Jovi 2 for 1 price offer on Ticketmaster. We knew it would happen! It was foretold on here.
Probably not the right place to post but nowhere is really appropriate.
That many dates and the greedy greedy grabby ticket prices.
I know the gigs won’t be empty whatever happens but serves them right that they are selling front block A3 tickets at 2 for 1.
IMO
Posted on May 20th, 2010 at 17:12
Maybe they could do a buy one get 10 free for Eddie Kadi! They still won’t get 1st tier sold out IMO
Posted on May 20th, 2010 at 17:44
The odd thing was that Seetickets tickets were £112 as opposed to TM charging £200 for the same seats (and I am not taking about any package just a boggo seat).
Posted on May 20th, 2010 at 17:45
So in effect then TM is just the same as buy one get just one on SEE.
How F***d up is that!
Posted on May 20th, 2010 at 17:49
AEG just make it up as they go along, they don’t give a sh*t about the customers.
Stupid, bordering on offensive ticket prices. They lied about London being the only European dates, then when they did go on sale through the fan club they put a £40 a ticket booking fee on the “good” seats. Then they peddled their (already disgustingly priced) tickets through Getmein and Ticketmasters “exchange,” then as one final f*ck you they now go and put on a 2-1 offer which is an insult to everyone who has paid full price for those gigs.
Posted on May 20th, 2010 at 18:27
AEG will only be remembered in future by most people as the group that Killed Michael Jackson.
They cooked their golden goose nice and crispy!
Posted on May 20th, 2010 at 18:54
think you’re all missing the point tbh, the same tickets were half the price on See from the outset. The first and only time that See have been better than TM!
Posted on May 21st, 2010 at 12:29
Sorry to report See wern’t cheaper than TM!
I bought A2 Row L for £100 for bon jovi from TM
What happened is “Dynamic Pricing” so Row a-j were £200 after that were £100
The problem is unlike west end theatre tickets you don’t know where the different pricing bands start and finish especially if you select Best Available when buying.
Most people otherwise would opt for Row L backwards to save a hundred quid but the whole of the A Blocks might be £200 for all we know when buying so people pay £200 only to find the Row behind them “only” paid £100.
A ridiculous and unfair system but all they care about is getting as much money as they can and if they have unsold tickets nearer the time of the gig then they do 2 for 1 etc and still earn big time from it.
Basically they are behaving worse than touts and sooner or later will kill the golden goose as people will say enough is enough and will stop going to so many gigs

Old Post I know…but with the announcments of the cancelled Gorrilaz dates it seems a case of we told you so.
Perhaps promoters should consult all those on the gttf forum before announcing dates !
Posted on July 22nd, 2010 at 18:39
Truly dreadful sales really.
Blur didn’t even fill the MEN with the original lineups and they had tickets at £25 in sections! Gorlliaz had no chance.
