  1. Trent Said,

I had 2 tickets for the gig at Clyde Auditorium this Sunday. I couldn’t go so sold them on Seatwave, and now ticketline are telling me that it is box office collection only. Anyone else had this issue, looks like I could be left seriously out of pocket? Seatwave are saying I may have to cover the cost of new tickets?

  2. SB Said,

Thats the gamble you take when selling on those sites. SW don’t allow buyer collections so they’ll slug you with a fee to cover replacements for your buyer and then your also left with your tickets you purchased that can’t go.

They did have an option of sending your tickets to the SW office and then the buyer collects on the day. But as the SW office is in London, your gonna be out of pocket I suspect

  3. SB Said,

More importantly, why are they telling you its BO collection? Are they late in sending?

  4. Trent Said,

    There reasoning is:
Unfortunately we have not received the tickets to this event in from the promoter. As such, we have had to make the tickets available for a collection at the Box Office at the venue. Please take either the card you paid with, or some photographic ID to the venue and your tickets will be handed to you.

Brilliant! There are no tickets for sale on Seatwave or GetMeIn for this gig now so they might just have to refund the buyer hopefully, and not buy replacement tickets out of my pocket!

  5. Prt Said,

You will still be fined by SW though under the ticket integrity guidelines.

  6. R Said,

    How many are BOC?

Exchange sites do allow you to ‘upgrade’ people, so if you can find any equivalent or better seats on eBay, you could offer these to the Seatwave buyer - 99% of buyers will be happy with a different seat if it is better.

If you only have two (or 4) BOC, you can then sell them all in one transaction on ebay and arrange for the ebay buyer to collect them with a letter of authorisation (check with the venue that this is possible first though). It is usually fine, providing you do not split ordrs - ie one person is collecting all of the tickets.

You will probably lose some money this way but not as much.

You can tell I’ve dealt with See Tickets!

  7. SB Said,

I’m quite sure that’s not how those ticket platform companies work. You have a contract with them and if you can’t deliver its up to them whether you get stung. They won’t lose any money if they find replacements as you the seller takes up the tab. Its in their interest to find them as if they don’t they lose their selling fees as well. Its probably not an answer you want to hear but I’d be prepared to take a loss perhaps even if its is just the selling fees they lose if they do indeed refund the buyers total price.

  9. SB Said,

So be it though that’s not my intention.

Its called a reality check. Life not always a one way direction where everything works out perfect.

  10. Trent Said,

R, good thinking. Ticketline did say I could provide a letter of authorisation for someone else to pick them up, so I’ll put them on e-bay and try and cover my costs.

SB, that is probably true, but a bit annoying when you do all you can to get the tickets, but it is simply not possible.

  11. Rupert Said,

That’s amazing SB. I though life was a bed of roses all the time. Thanks for answering (yet again) a question that nobody asked.

  12. R Said,

Trent - no problem. Seatwave won’t accept BOC, so whatever happens there you may as well make what you can on ebay.

I know Getmein allow you to provide different tickets, provided they are the same or better, and as long as the buyer agrees to it, as I have done it with Muse tickets. You’d have to check with Seatwave if they are the same. Don’t forget a helpful ebayer may dispatch the tickets with UPS for you, so you could still have time to sort it. Buyers will almost certainly say yes to a swap - not only are the tickets better, it may be there only possibility remaining to attend! you just need to weigh up the costs vs a fine.

  13. highflyer Said,

SB Im afraid the contract stipulates that there will be a fine if you cannot provide the tickets which were ordered. Getmein offer the customer a 150% refund and you the seller pay it, together with their selling fees.

Trent - are you tickets seated? The only thing you can do to avoid penalties is to buy replacements of ebay (must be equivalent or better seats) and get the seller to send them direct to your Seatwave buyer (RMSD will be ok if you just explain to Seatwave that you cant UPS them) then sell the tickets you have for BOC on collection on ebay.

Or take the hit on it.

  14. Trent Said,

I stuck them on e-bay and they sold within 2 hours for quite a bit more than they sold on Seatwave, so I could be quids in out of this whole fiasco! Cheers SB

  15. Trent Said,

    Sorry, thanks R, not SB!

  16. R Said,

Trent - No problem, glad it is working out!
