Many people were asking at the show ‘Who is Sliimy’, but it is clear to say everyone went away with the answer that he is the next best thing.
When we first heard Sliimy was the support act for Katy Perry we decided to google him, it was apparent by many reviewers he was tipped as being a new Mika, however from witnessing Sliimy live this evening it is clear to say Sliimy is definitely an artist who has something new to offer, not just in style but with his sound also.
Accompanied with an acoustic guitarist, Sliimy came on stage with an enthusiastic vibe and went straight into his first song of the evening. The first thing that struck us when Sliimy came on was his quirky and unique outfit, with such a unique outfit you would think Sliimy would be highly confident but when preceding to introduce himself to the crowd after his first song, it became clear he was a very softly spoken shy guy. However it was interesting to see that his shyness was not affected in his performance one little bit.
With Sliimy being the support act it is clear to say numerous ‘Katy Cats’ would not know his songs or lyrics, however this did not put a damper on Sliimy’s performance as he urged the crowd to participate along with him, and the audience were happy to participate.
Sliimy finished his set with his latest single ‘Wake Up’, which had the crowd singing along to the catchy chorus. I don’t think the acoustic guitar did the song any justice as the acoustic version fails to incorporate the catchy melody in the original version.
Sliimy left a lot of people surprised, his songs are a lot like himself, quirky, funny but yet very soulful, and raw at the same time.
A definite one to watch!

Wasn’t at the Birmingham show, but was at the Newcastle one.. we saw him walking around the streets pre-gig, he kept waving, he was so happy and friendly!
When he came on stage.. I wasn’t sure if I was gonna like him or not, cos I hadn’t listened to any of his stuff before coming to the gig.. but he was good! He really seemed to be enjoying himself on stage, he was totally at home up there!! His voice is super gentle, its really nice. I’d probably go see him again. He’s definately one to watch, but I’m not sure if he’s chart material…I think he’s got the potential, definately to be big.. but not in the chart.
&He’s nothing like Mika!

Sliimy is quite possibly one of the coolest guys i’ve met, i met him outside the newcastle show after seeing him at the birmingham show and told him how amazing he was. his response: ‘it was so scary doing an acoustic show that big!’ i for one love sliimy and can’t get enough, you know a songs good when you wake up with it in your head.. he’s a lovely guy and he’s so freaking cute. i love his poodle quiff hair. i want it for myself, would i look sexy with it? i think so.
Sliimy is just amazing, end of story.
he’s in this magic game of fame and he’ll for sure make it. i have feelings about it!
