Gary Kemp to unveil Ziggy Plaque
In celebration of the 40th anniversary of David Bowie’s iconic album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust, Bowie fan Gary Kemp will be unveiling the Ziggy Stardust commemorative plaque on Heddon Street, London from 9.30am on 27th March 2012.
Gary’s love of the seminal album goes way back to his childhood and he often refers to seeing Bowie on Top of the Pops as being a life-changing moment. Now, 40 years on, Gary is honoured to be an integral part of the celebrations of Bowie’s mystical alien landing on Earth.
The Ziggy Stardust album cover photograph was shot in Heddon Street and the plaque will be only the second to be erected in London to commemorate a fictional character (the first being Sherlock Holmes) .
Gary Kemp will also be presenting a BBC 2 Radio documentary to be broadcast on 6th June, the actual 40th Anniversary of the album’s release.

Bieber tickets on sale next week? His tour manager said they would be on sale in May!
I thought you'd say that's alright because they like the way it hurts... And with this I rest my case.. lol
Presumably they'd be OK under their umbrellas-ellas-ellas, hey, hey hey. Sorry, couldn't resist...
I would go to that gig just to witness the myriad of Rihanna's wannabes with high heels and what not, struggling in the hyde park mud wishing they stayed at home taking care of their hair/nails! :)
I think the much-publicised fact that she is playing Wireless festival in July 12 was a pretty big hint? :-)
