EP: The Rapture – Sail Away
The Rapture formed in San Francisco in 1998 and they have been producing consistently great dance-punk tracks ever since including the incredible ‘Sail Away’ taken from their most recent album ‘In The Grace Of Your Love’. For this EP The Rapture have handed over ‘Sail Away’ to three very talented artist: Aeroplane, Cosmic Kids & Cut Copy.
As a whole I really enjoyed listening to this EP from start to finish and despite the fact that it’s the same track repeated, each of the remixes were so individual it felt like three completely different songs. Of all the remixes my favourite had to be Aeroplane’s, as I loved the build up of the lyrics towards an emotional high that made me instantly think of being at a festival. The remix is beautiful and as soon as the lyrics burst you can’t help but feel drawn in.
Cosmic Kids’ remix while being well done was my least favourite of the three, as I found it a little repetitive, although it did grow on me the more I listened. Closing the trio is Cut Copy’s remix which from the outset reminded me of an old school computer game. It was more up tempo than the other two and seemed to integrate a lot of the original lyrics in to the track, and as the Evening Standard said “this is the sound of indie disco at its very best”.
A must for both fans of The Rapture and indie dance music alike

Bieber tickets on sale next week? His tour manager said they would be on sale in May!
I thought you'd say that's alright because they like the way it hurts... And with this I rest my case.. lol
Presumably they'd be OK under their umbrellas-ellas-ellas, hey, hey hey. Sorry, couldn't resist...
I would go to that gig just to witness the myriad of Rihanna's wannabes with high heels and what not, struggling in the hyde park mud wishing they stayed at home taking care of their hair/nails! :)
I think the much-publicised fact that she is playing Wireless festival in July 12 was a pretty big hint? :-)
